To give some backstory:

Tadese Takele burst onto the marathon scene in 2023, when he took the 3rd place with an incredible time of 2:03:24 at the Berlin Marathon in his marathon debut. Then Tadese shaved one second off his record time at the Tokyo Marathon 2025, which was his first victory at Abbott World Marathon Majors.

Geoffrey Toroitich Kipchumba of Kenia triumphed in the 2025 Amsterdam Marathon in a stunning time of 2:03:30, smashing the course record.

Kenia's Alexander Mutiso Munyao won Prague Marathon 2023 in 2:05:09, and greatly improved his marathon personal best at the Valencia Marathon 2023m where he tool the bronze in 2:03:11. Winning the 2024 London Marathon in 2:04:01 was also a major milestone for Alexander Mutiso Munyao. In 2025, he placed third in 2:04:20 in the London Marathon and finished second in the TCS New York City Marathon with the time of 2:08:09 and a tiny margin of 0.16 seconds, which was one of the tightest finishes in the history of the New York City Marathon.
