Jacob Kiplimo reclaimed the half marathon world record at the EDP Lisbon Half Marathon 2026
Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo reclaimed the half marathon world record title with amazing time of 57:20 in Lisbon. Thanks to Kiplimo's incredible performance, the previous men's half marathon world record, set by Ethiopia's Yomif Kejelcha in 2024 in Valencia, was improved by 10 seconds.

To give a bit of a backstory - Kiplimo ran 57:31 at the Lisbon Half Marathon 2021, which stood as the world record until 2024. In 2025, Jacob Kiplimo produced an astonishing time of 56:42 at the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks, however, it wasn't ratified as a world record because some of the race conditions were not fully compliant with World Athletics rules.
